CnEVPost reported that Xpeng launched the Mona L05 five-seat SUV in China on October 29 with battery electric and extended-range variants. The model starts at a limited-time price of RMB 139,800 after a deposit discount, while official guide prices range from RMB 144,800 to RMB 176,800.
Xpeng is offering six variants of the mid-size SUV. Customers who pay a RMB 5,000 deposit by December 15 can receive a RMB 5,000 cash discount, bringing limited-time prices to RMB 139,800 to RMB 171,800.
The four BEV variants span that full discounted range. The two EREV variants are priced at RMB 149,800 and RMB 161,800.
Compared with the pre-sales lineup announced on October 15, Xpeng added a new entry-level 560 Plus BEV variant. The five existing variants were launched with official guide prices that are each RMB 15,000 lower than their pre-sales prices.
The Mona L05 is the third model in Xpeng's Mona lineup. It is positioned above the Mona L03 compact SUV launched in July. Xpeng is using the Mona line to target younger consumers.
The SUV measures 4,870 mm in length, 1,930 mm in width and 1,636 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,940 mm. It uses a sloping roofline and frameless doors.
The BEV variants offer a maximum CLTC range of 635 kilometers. The EREV variants have a CLTC battery range of 310 kilometers and a combined range of 1,310 kilometers with a full tank and a fully charged battery.
Driver-assistance features vary by trim level. Max variants use 1 of Xpeng's in-house Turing AI chips with 750 TOPS of effective computing power and support the second-generation VLA Lite model.
Ultra SE variants use 2 Turing AI chips with 1,500 TOPS of effective computing power and support the full version of the second-generation VLA model.
Cabin features include a 17.3-inch central touchscreen and a 26.8-inch W-HUD head-up display. Xpeng also offers a rear entertainment screen, a zero-gravity front passenger seat and a 20-speaker audio system.
Overseas sales plans
Overseas markets are also a target for the Mona L05. Xpeng announced on October 26 that global shipments of the SUV had begun, and it plans to sell the model in 65 countries and regions.
Left- and right-hand-drive versions were developed at the same time. Xpeng previously said it had deployed 660 vehicles for testing under extreme conditions across 25 countries and regions.
The company has not disclosed delivery schedules for individual overseas markets.
Sales backdrop
The Mona L05 arrives as Xpeng seeks higher fourth-quarter volume. The company is counting on new models to help monthly sales top 60,000 units in the fourth quarter.
CnEVPost said Xpeng's year-to-date deliveries remain below the year-earlier level.
Xpeng delivered 41,256 vehicles in September, its highest monthly total in 2026. That was up 5.50% from August and down 0.78% from a year earlier.
The monthly delivery table cited in the report shows Xpeng delivered 20,011 vehicles in January, 15,256 in February, 27,415 in March and 31,011 in April.
The launch gives Xpeng another SUV in a lower price band, with both BEV and EREV powertrain choices and a new entry variant below the pre-sales lineup announced earlier in October.
